Gordon Attard - Chef & Food Blogger

Gordon (Gordy) Attard is a professional chef hailed from the small Island of Malta. Since his tender age he felt in love with the World of Food. Gordy launched this site in October 2008 just after his birthday.

How he started - In his toddler’s age Gordy was always interested & in touch with food; his beloved aunties used to cook some nice Maltese Traditional Sunday dishes like Rabbit Stew with potatoes and vegetables, Stuffed Pork with gravy etc.... Gordy was the only one from his cousins to pull up his sleeves and help in the kitchen. From then on, at the young age of 13, he used to be glued to the TV watching this half Italian half Maltese chef cooking pastas, dips and pastes just after he returned home from school. He used to write down all the recipes and later that day or in the weekends he would secretly try them out in his parents’ kitchen. His secret was paying attention to detail how the TV chef worked out the recipes.

Experience - After some years, Gordy had the opportunity to attend a local catering school; The Institute of Tourism Studies, St. Julians Malta. In October of 1999 Gordy started his 4 years Higher Diploma Course in Food Preparation & Production and never looked back. During those 4 years (the 3rd year being an internship abroad) he was fortunate to work with local and international award-winning chefs who instilled in him the passion for food. He later obtained his 2nd Diploma in Hotel & Restaurant Management in 2004 while contributed in writing food columns in a local magazine called ‘Life’.

The WebsiteToday, after 9 years of experience in various Hotels & Restaurants locally and abroad (Scotland & Spain included), Gordy wanted to take it a step further. He came up with the idea of creating a web-blog with a cool name ‘Pimp That Food’. Simply the idea is to help and teach young, adults and other people alike about the passion of healthy food. The motto is “Change the way of eating good”. Reducing Obesity around the world is his goal & dream.

‘If I can do it you can do it too!’
